The Puerto Rican Chamber of Commerce of Central Florida understands the need of assisting and cultivating Central Florida’s Puerto Rican and Hispanic young talent. population. As leaders in our communities, we hold education and youth empowerment as core values, and recognize the need to provide financial support through scholarships for qualified Latinx students in Central Florida. The 2023 Future Leaders Scholarship will award two $4,000 scholarships towards a 4-year university and two $2,000 towards a 2-year college; to applicants, who show exceptional scholastic, leadership, and community involvement.

Currently enrolled at an eligible high school at the time application.

Must be of Hispanic/Latin origin.

Must live in Orange, Osceola, or Seminole counties.

Intend to enroll in a four-year college or university or two-year community/technical college [in at least 12 units]

Personal Statement: Explain your educational and discuss your career goals. How will this award help you achieve your goals?

Community Involvement/Service: Describe your current and previous high school, college, and community service activities (include volunteer work). How has this service impacted you?

Financial Need: Describe your financial need and how you are financing your college education.
​

Transcripts: Attach an unofficial transcript of your high school and/or college course work.

2 Recommendation Forms: Obtain two recommendation forms, preferably from an employer, teacher, counselor, business or community person. The forms should evaluate your academic potential, public service, financial need, leadership experiences, and other factors indicating your potential for future success.

Certification: Sign the application and certify that all information is true and accurate.
Deadline for Applications
You must submit the application and all requested materials to the PRCCCF by January 15, 2024. Postmarked date of January 15, 2024 will be accepted. You may also scan all materials and email them to directoreducation@prcccf.com with Subject Line: 2023 Future Leaders Scholarship Application.

Before mailing, review these important points
Notification
All students selected for awards will be notified by February 29, 2024; and will receive an invitation to a Scholarship Celebration. Details regarding the Scholarship Celebration will be provided in the invitation. Students not selected for a scholarship will receive a written notification via email.
Privacy and Security
The data that we collect from you will only be used for the purpose of determining your eligibility for scholarships and will be protected from outsiders.
Authorization
By submitting an application, you (the student) authorize the Puerto Rican Chamber of Commerce to publicize your name and picture in the event you are awarded a scholarship.
Disbursement of Funds
Scholarship checks are disbursed September 2024 - October 2024. Students must provide verification of registration (a class schedule), still meet scholarship eligibility requirements and submit a thank you note to the donors who made this scholarship possible before a check will be generated or disbursed. Specific instructions and deadlines for obtaining scholarship checks are provided with each scholarship award certificate. Scholarships will not be held for use at a later date.
